Welcome to the Softbot redesign guide!

Below you will find everything you need to help you out on your redesign journey!
I had to rewrite this twice, please help

You may notice that throughout the redesign examples, the drape never changes. That's because drape redesigns use a separate item!

OG DESIGN What DOESN'T require an edit chip Example
  • Small saturation/hue shifts
  • Small marking adjustments (Small spikes on lines, simplifying dots etc)
  • Hairstyle changes
  • Fur thickness/texture changes
  • Body type changes
  • Skin tone changes

These are all examples of a redesign that can be sent in without the need of an item attached!

By the way, if you're unsure how to submit a redesign, check this guide! It works pretty much the same for both redesign submissions and design submissions in general.

Click the collapsible buttons below to open up their respective rules and examples!

Minor Edit Chip
EXAMPLE What a Minor Edit Chip allows
34-image.png
  • Moderate saturation/hue shifts (Brown to beige, or reddish brown etc)
  • Moderate marking adjustments/additions
  • Tube placement changes
  • Trait swap in same rarity (Ex. Cat ears -> Bear ears)
  • Horn size change within rarity (Ex. Small -> medium)
  • Mod placements may be changed around as well

These are all examples of a redesign that would require a minor edit chip!

In general, the redesign must still be ~70% recognizeable!!
Major Edit Chip
EXAMPLE What a Major Edit Chip allows EXAMPLE
35-image.png
  • BIG saturation/hue shifts
  • BIG marking adjustments/additions
  • Tube placement changes
  • Trait swap in same rarity (Ex. Cat ears -> Bear ears)
  • Horn size change within rarity (Ex. Small -> medium)
  • Mod placement changes

These are all examples of a redesign that would require a major edit chip!

In general, the redesign must still be ~40% recognizeable as the OG design!

NOTE: Too big of a change in saturation/hue or marking changes will require the opposite to be closer to the OG (eg. big colour change, OG markings kept)

and that's all you need to know! If you're ever unsure, please feel free to send in a design update featuring your ideas and we'll tell you what needs to be tweaked or not! We're always willing to help reach a conclusion that's satisfying for all parties.

happy redesigning!!
